Victorian Ivy Bangle
EVERLASTING LOVE
No.142
STORY:
Flower designs became a popular motif for Victorian jewellery. Not only were they incorporated into the designs, but many had a symbolic meaning attached to them. Ivy represented everlasting love, deep friendship or marriage making this the perfect accessory for a wedding or gift to a loved one.
DESCRIPTION: As a costume piece of jewellery, this bracelet has a base metal core and sterling silver band.
Condition: It does have some wear - the silver plating has worn from the edges of the bracelet which gives that part of the metal a soft brass colour. There is some raising of the sterling silver edging which is probably from it being improperly stored or squished at some point although does not effect its current wear at all. The clasp is strong and completely wearable.
Era: Victorian
Measurements:
Inside diameter of the bangle measures 57mm.
Hallmarks: Stamped "Sterling Silver BAND" and jeweller's mark "H.W"
