The Revival Collection - Vintage Diamond & Gold Snake Necklace
The Revival Collection features redesigned one of a kind pieces using vintage materials.
The serpent has been an enduring symbol in jewellery since ancient times. Archeological digs in Greece and Italy resurrected ancient mythology on the symbolism of the serpent in jewellery.
Aphrodite, the goddess of love was depicted wearing a bracelet in the form of a snake. For Plato, the image of the Ourobouros - a serpent swallowing its symobolised everlasting life. So it is no surprise serpent jewellery is still as sought after in our modern times.
This pendant is a nod to these ancient mythologies. In its previous life, this pendant was a teeny tiny ring which could only have fit a child. This ring has been transformed into a stunning pendant by a professional goldsmith in the famous Hatton Garden jewellery quarter in London, England. Crafted from 18ct yellow gold and single centre diamond, the ring has been transformed into a beautifully modern pendent with a grecian aesthetic. The pendant provides a contrast of metals as it is hung from a rhodium plated sterling silver box chain.
This tiny snake ring was found as a set of three. The 2 other little snakes were converted into stunning earrings.
This pendant is suitable for everyday wear however it is recommended the ring be kept away from chemicals and makeup. It is also recommended the necklace be removed when undertaking any physical exercise such as running / swimming etc.
Like new following it's transformation by the Hatton Garden jeweller.
