Art Deco Terrier Necklace
No. 104
STORY:
Reverse carving of glass and crystal originated in Belgium in the mid 1800s. It required a significant amount of skill to carve miniature artworks into the crystal. The image was completed using oil paints to add a three dimensional depth. Love for this jewellery remained popular until the 1920s where we would have found this lovely little terrier. This stunning little hound's image has been sealed by a mother of pearl backing and set into gold plated sterling silver. The pendant has since been hung on a new gold plated sterling silver box chain.
