The horseshoe has been a longtime symbol of good luck and protection. This symbolism coupled with the skill and quality of traditional french "Or Plaqué Laminé" gives these earrings an edge. Mastered by the french in the early 1900s, "Or Plaqué Laminé", represents some of the best quality gold plated jewellery you will ever find.
DESCRIPTION: These horseshoe motif leverback earring have been bonded with a thick gold coating with sweet seed pearl detail.
DISCOVERY: These earrings were recovered from the estate of an old french jeweller dating back to WW2 - still complete with their original display card.
Condition: Excellent - New Old Stock although there is a wee nick to one of the seed pearls which you can see in the photo.
Era: Art Deco
16mm long x 6mm wide.
Hallmarks: There are very tiny hallmarks and makers marks on the ear backs however I am not able to make them out.
